Steve has played with many different musicians in about a half dozen different bands as well as by himself, and he has performed a wide array of music from those early folk songs to Led Zeppelin covers. For about 15 years, Steve hardly played at all after a personal tragedy befell him while living in Tulsa in the mid 1980's. He is back at it again now, and he has just released a new album of his own original work.
Steve Weichert’s music is often described as soulful, eclectic ballads with a jazz twist. Steve draws from several genres of music including folk, rock, blues, and jazz with some crooning thrown in for good measure. He has released 6 albums dating back to 1975. Born and raised in Tulsa, OK, he is now living in Austin. Steve’s current album is As Always In Love.
